Abstract

This essay addresses the connections between the works: The Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice, by William Shakespeare and Dom Casmurro, by Machado de Assis. To this end, we observe the particularities of each language - the theatrical and the novel - and their similarities and differences, as well as the possibilities of artistic recreation based on their meanings and senses.
